Did the Portland PD thwart time travel?

On Sunday, the Portland Police Department made a post to their Facebook page with a memed photo of an officer talking to the driver of a DeLorean DMC-12.

The car is notoriously known as the time machine in the blockbuster Back to the Future movie franchise of the 1980’s, so the PPD had a little fun with the image.

To those who have never seen the movie series, 88 mph is the speed needed for the modified DeLorean to jump through time.

“Officer Abbott was on patrol and was able to stop this speeder before he got away,” the post said.

In another reference to the movie, the post jokingly quoted the alleged speeder as saying he needed to go back to 1955 to make his parents part of the popular crowd.

“Not sure if that will hold up in court,” they concluded.
