Bangor PD’s hilarious PSA on distracted driving creates online buzz

This isn’t intended to be an ongoing theme, I swear, but just a few days after this Facebook post by the Auburn Police Department caused an amusing stir online, the Bangor Police Department has gotten in on the fun.

This isn’t the first time the Bangor PD has taken to Facebook to send a message to the local community, but this one is especially funny because they wrote it in the form of a “Missed Connection,” which is normally associated with poignant, late night posts on Craigslist.

These two latest posts highlight a trend by local police departments across the country to reach out and connect with people from their Facebook pages.

In this day and age, with all the (warranted) scrutiny against law enforcement in America, it’s good to see police departments making an effort to remind people that they’re human too, and that (at least some of them) care about their public perception.
